Pursuit Base Bar

Our pursuit bars are designed with the same philosophy as the Stromm track frame: the best performance possible where it truly matters, and maximum compatibility and practicality where aerodynamic optimization isn't necessary.  

The base bar's shaping eliminates every bit of drag possible, create thrust and pre-condition airflow ahead of the rider. The bar is aero and it makes your body more aero as well. Even the grip tape is factored into our airfoil shaping. 

Our bar has an extremely sharp trailing edge and a much thinner profile than other bars on the market. We didn’t compromise the ideal design for ease of manufacturing.

Rider fit is just as important to performance as aerodynamics. Most pursuit/TT riders are unable to achieve a low enough hand position for starting, giving up a significant aerodynamic advantage in the first lap. Our bars have 70mm of drop to improve the rider's drag (and often biomechanics!) during the critical starting effort. 

Track starts exert extreme forces on the base bar. Stromm bars are specifically designed to handle stress from the strongest sprint athletes in the world. We exceed the ISO strength standards by 20X: far beyond many other base bars. This means better control during the start and much greater durability for continued performance. 

We always use standard and easily replaceable hardware, with serviceable threaded inserts, so that your bar investment lasts a long time. The extension interface mates well with almost every modern riser and extension system, and uses a standard 1.125” steerer interface.
