Better Aero Process
More questions asked. Better answers found.
Aero development is not one simulation or one tunnel session. We use a layered process that starts with efficient physics-based modeling, then moves to more detailed simulation, wind tunnel validation, and real world testing.
Each stage answers a specific question. That lets us test more ideas, learn from the results, and focus effort where it matters most. Every frame we build is shaped through iteration, not assumptions.

The physics of airflow are not limited to cycling. Stromm co-founder and lead engineer Ben Rothacker brings an aerospace engineering background, including work at Boeing, to how we develop our bikes.
That perspective informs a methodical approach to aerodynamics: Use the right tool for the question. Understand its limits. Test the result against the real world.
For Stromm, that means engineering bikes that perform in the complex, shifting conditions riders actually face, from high yaw angles and crosswinds on the road to tight drafting on the track.

The Bike We Want, Regardless of Cost
The bikes we wanted to ride didn’t exist. So we engineered them.
Stromm bikes are not built around a product launch calendar or predetermined cost shortcuts. We build to answer a single question: what does it take to create the exact bikes we want to ride and race?
We spend years refining our concepts before bringing a frame to market. Promising ideas are tested, evaluated, and left behind whenever they fail to meet our performance standards.
We do not stop when a design is simply good enough to sell. We stop when it is right.

Every Improvement, Noticeable or Not
No detail is too small to matter.
A truly fast bike is rarely the result of one dramatic design choice. It is the accumulation of hundreds of smaller ones.
During development, we evaluate thousands of tube shape variations and test dozens of custom profiles. Wind tunnel testing examines gains as small as fractions of a watt. The spacing around a wheel, the transition between frame elements, and the contour of every tube all dictate how air moves.
Some improvements are obvious. Others are nearly invisible. All are worth pursuing.
